New iPhone!

Saturday's the day!! I get my iPhone! :) & I can't wait. I've been all over Apple.com looking at it's features & apps and it's getting me really excited. We were waiting for this tomorrow (payday) to go get my iPhone and then we're going to wait for our taxes for my camera. :) Loren has had his precious dirt bike for a week and I'm just happy to finally be getting my toys too. So, I'm getting the iPhone 3GS 16 GB. It comes in a 8, 16 or 32 GB so I figure I'd go with the 16. Not the most expensive one but not the one with the least GBs too..:)

Tomorrow we (Loren, Addie, Mel, Trent & I) are going over to Bill's & Jana's. It is Bills birthday today so we'll probably do something for him on Saturday. As long as I can still get my phone ;).

While we are there, we will be discussing the possibility of Melissa, the babies & myself moving in with them. You see, Loren told them last weekend about my plans to move home (Oregon) in May. And one of the main reasoning's for that is so we can save/make more money before he gets out of the military. So they called earlier this week and suggested that if we wanted to start saving money now without me moving too far away, we could move in with them. I think it's a great idea. We can save money and they can see Addison all the time before we move.

The reason why Melissa & Trenten would come with us is because they are currently living with us until Brent comes back from his deployment. So they'd also stay at Bill & Jana's until May-ish when Brent comes home. Loren would be staying with his friend Dean who lives on base. Actually, Dean is the friend of ours that has Guss right now :) so Loren & Sadie would get to see Guss all the time :).

It sounds like a win/win to me. The only down side is that we wouldn't get to see Loren everyday.. and we'd be staying at someone else's house and not our own home. But it would only be for about 3 months and then I'll be off to a much greener place!

Oh, and if we do move into Bill & Jana's, Loren wants to do it before the 15th of February so that by March 1st, we can start getting paid for not living on base ($$$). :) So that means that next week is going to be all about packing, packing, packing...

Moving Home!

Loren & I decided that Addison, Sadie & I will be moving back to my parents house around May!! :) It's going to stink that we will only get to see Loren when we can fly down or he has time off to come up. But I am soo excited that I won't be spending a 3rd summer in Twentynine Palms!! It's wayyy too hot. I'm excited to spend my summer with my friends & family, going to the lake/beach & being able to go outside without risking a heat stroke (seriously). So, we'll move back to my parents in May & hopefully get an apartment or rent a house by fall. Then Loren will be back at the end of January for good!
I can't wait! :)

Digital SLR Camera

If you read my last post, you'll know that I will probably be buying a SLR camera very soon :). But I need some help. I've done a little bit of research online about what kind to get..

-I want a Canon or Nikon (preferably a Canon)
-It has to be 8 or higher megapixels
-I want to spend around 800.00 or less (or way less) ;)

There a lot of other features that I need to be looking for but I'm not sure exactly what they are..lol. I'm probably going to have my sister help my pick one out but if you have any suggestions, that would be great!

Painted Piggies!

I painted Addie's toes today! Don't worry, I read that as long as she doesn't normally suck on her toes (which she doesn't anymore..) then its perfectly safe. Don't her piggies look cute?! :)
And we also have been putting gel in her hair to keep it curly :)
Oh, and I had some fun...

Silly girl!

Loren & Addie watching a movie :)

Not much has been going on here since we got back from our trip to Oregon.. Addison isn't walking on her own yet but she's really good at it while holding on to something. It started to get really hot again here but the past couple days it's been raining! Thank God! It's soo nice when it rains.

Today was Loren's 3 year anniversary in the Marines. That means only 1 more year!! Yay! I can't wait until we can move back to Oregon and start something new.

Also, Loren & I have made a deal with each other about our tax returns... He really really needs (wants) and dirt bike. He's been spending the past 3 days trying to convince me that its a good idea to get him one. So, I said that if he gets that, I want to spend my half on an iPhone & a good digital SLR camera. And, of course, he said "deal!". I guess it looks like we are going to spending that money on toys this year. Which is OK because we need a little more fun around here. =)

Conan O'Brien

I just want to say that I am really angry, sad, & disappointed in the way NBC & Jay are dealing with Conan. In Conan's statement "People of Earth" (Below), he talks about how taking the deal to move to 12:05 wouldn't be fair to Jimmy Fallon. But it seems like Jay & NBC don't care about what's fair.. I think that Jay needs to retire like he said he would! I also think that Conan is handling this very well. I've been watching Conan since I was 14 & it just makes me sad that I'll never get to see him live. He came out to L.A. for the Tonight Show 7 months ago and I always thought that I'd have time to go to a taping. But since he only has a week left, all the tickets are sold out. Anyways, this whole thing just makes me sick. I wish the best for him & I really hope to see him soon doing what he does best!

Conan joking about this situation:
"When I was a little boy, I remember watching The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson and thinking, ‘Someday, I’m going to host that show for seven months,’” he said, highlighting the fact that NBC didn’t even give him time to establish himself as the show’s host.

Conan's statement-

People of Earth:

In the last few days, I've been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I've been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I've been absurdly lucky. That said, I've been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.

Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn't the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.

So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy hosting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably hard and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of The Tonight Show. But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn't matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more.

There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.

Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it's always been that way.

Yours,
Conan

I Am America

I finally got the book I've wanted for so long for Christmas! Its called "I Am America (And So Can You)" By Stephen Colbert. I love it! I've just started reading it the other night. If you like his show, then you'll love this book. Its just all his opinions about different things. Every chapter is about something different (marriage, old people, sex, politics, work, gays, etc). It's really funny and really fun to read. I'm about half way through & I can hardly put it down.

Once I'm done with this book, I'll be going back to my more serious novels.. I was thinking about reading "Water For Elephants" next. :)

January In Two Nine

It's January in California (Actually, everywhere) ;) & it feels great! Its been really sunny but breezy out. Addison & I have been going on a lot of walks. The only thing that sucks is that by March it will be up in the 100s, by May it will be about 105, and by June it will be between 115-120 degrees. So this is really the only time of year when we can go out and enjoy ourselves.

Addison in her stroller :)
